Dermaplaning, also known as “dermablading” is a mechanical skin resurfacing treatment that removes the layer of dull, dead skin cells and vellus hair in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion.
Dermaplaning is recommended for all skin types except those with active breakout and men with heavy facial hair. This is a great treatment option if you are pregnant or nursing, and want exfoliation without the use of chemicals!
Remove vellus hair “peach fuzz” from the upper lip, temples or other parts of the face
Reduce fine lines around the forehead, eyes, cheeks and mouth
Minimize acne scars or other scarring
Resolve textural problems caused by sun damage
Exfoliate dull, dead outer layers of the skin
Allow skincare products to absorb more effectively
Help make-up go on more smoothly
What to expect during your Dermaplaning treatment?
Dermaplaning is an in-office treatment that requires no anesthesia. The flat side of a surgical scalpal blade is placed on the skin’s surface and moved across using short, light strokes. This action removes the outermost layers of skin, exfoliating dead skin cells, debris and peach fuzz.
Dermaplaning can be performed as a single procedure, or can be combined with other skin treatments to enhance the results.
Following treatment, you may experience some mild redness, irritation, or tingling in the treated area. These effects are temporary and typically resolve within a few days. The team at MD Esthetics will instruct you on post-treatment skincare for optimal safety and results.
